Connecting email clients

You can use any IMAP/SMTP client with Tortu Mail.

Thunderbird

  1. Menu → New Account → Email
  2. Enter email: yourname@tortu.cyou and password
  3. Click "Configure manually"
  4. Incoming: IMAP, mail.tortu.cyou, port 993, SSL/TLS
  5. Outgoing: SMTP, mail.tortu.cyou, port 587, STARTTLS
  6. Username (both): yourname@tortu.cyou

K-9 Mail (Android)

  1. Add account → Other email
  2. Email: yourname@tortu.cyou and password
  3. IMAP server: mail.tortu.cyou, port 993, SSL/TLS
  4. SMTP server: mail.tortu.cyou, port 587, STARTTLS
  5. Username: yourname@tortu.cyou

Apple Mail

  1. Settings → Mail → Add Account → Other
  2. Name, email: yourname@tortu.cyou, password
  3. Incoming IMAP: mail.tortu.cyou, SSL, port 993
  4. Outgoing SMTP: mail.tortu.cyou, port 587

Anonymous via TOR

  1. Install torsocks
  2. Run Thunderbird over TOR: torsocks thunderbird
  3. Use standard settings above
